Elizabeth Simcoe's Code of Conduct
Our Code of Student Conduct is designed to promote increased self-discipline and mature behaviour in each individual child as he/she develops through the stages of childhood. At Elizabeth Simcoe, we share with parents some commonly held basic values, which form the foundation of this code:
- Respect for self
- Respect for others
- Justice
- Tolerance and inclusiveness
- Honesty
- Co-operation
- Belief in democratic rights and responsibilities
- Fundamental belief in the worth of persons irrespective of age, race, ethnicity, religion, disabilities, sex or language
The staff endeavours to set a positive learning environment in the school by exemplifying the above and by striving to be fair, concerned, consistent and firm in the administering of such discipline as would be exercised by a kind, firm and judicious parent. (Education Act)
It is our school policy to provide positive reinforcement to students and to communicate clearly and regularly with the home. Concerned input is welcome.
It is expected that all adult visitors will also adhere to our conduct guidelines.
Elizabeth Simcoe's Volunteer Code of Conduct
Elizabeth Simcoe welcomes volunteers to work with students. It is understood that the purpose of a volunteer is to enrich programs or provide services that are not otherwise provided by Board employees.
The location of volunteer assignments is subject to the discretion of the principal. Failure to comply with the conditions set by the principal will result in the volunteer's services being discontinued.
Criminal Background Check Request Forms for volunteers are available at the office. You must complete a police check. There is a minimal fee associated with processing the application that will be covered by the volunteer. Parents who do not have a police check completed are not able to volunteer in the classrooms at all or in the school on a regular basis, more than three times per year.
