OUR PHILOSOPHY

Children gain an understanding of the world around them by experiencing a curriculum that is meaningful.
At Sunshine, the teachers implement a cue-based or child centered philosophy to create a program that is responsive to all children in the group.
Teachers develop and adapt their program by observing and listening to the children. Through this emergent curriculum, children are provided with the opportunity to decide what they would like to learn about. This builds a foundation for success and life long learning.
The curriculum is designed to involve children in experiences to enhance language, literature, music and movement, art and socialization. Through play, all areas of development are fostered. In small groups, the children receive individual attention in a nurturing environment where a healthy attitude towards learning is developed.
By creating a safe, secure and warm environment, children will develop independence, confidence and a positive sense of themselves and the world around them.
